Skydance Paramount Plans to Remove Nearly 2,000 United States Roles – News
Paramount Skydance is scheduled to begin significant workforce reductions during the week starting 27 October, eliminating approximately 2,000 American roles as part of a cost-cutting plan valued at $2bn overseen by CEO David Ellison.
The layoffs are a result of the merger between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized during August valued at $8.4bn.
Additional international job cuts are expected, with the company intending to announce complete information during its third-quarter financial update set for the 10th of November.
Prior news had indicated the company was looking to eliminate between 2,000 to 3,000 jobs by early November.
Until December 2024, Paramount retained almost 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts plus 3,500 contract workers.
Paramount Skydance has not yet commented to a request for comment.
