Helicopter Spirals Out of Control into Palm Groves at Frequented Southern California Shoreline
An aircraft hovering above a popular coastal shoreline abruptly commenced twirling uncontrollably, eventually dropping height and plunging into a line of palm fronds as spectators looked on.
Recordings uploaded online depict the chopper starting to spin near Huntington Beach then falling in the direction of the perimeter of the shore, where it gets stuck between palm trees and a steps close to the coastal road.
Emergency Response Details
The Huntington Beach fire department reported five people were taken to hospital including two who were in the chopper and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” subsequent to the crash on the weekend.
Three persons on the street were injured. Details on their condition were not immediately available.
The reason for the accident was not immediately released.

Authorities said the chopper was linked to an regular “Cars with Copters” charity gathering planned for the following day.
