Diving into a Unusual Steam Game Trial: Controlling a Turdy Character with the Goal to Reach the Toilet
Steam Next Fest is now live, and gamers have discovered plenty of interesting independent titles. But, one stands out for its unconventional concept. Called Unko Technica, this old-school styled jumping adventure lets you play a hero that is actually a turd attempting to make its way to a commode. As a fun fact, "Unko" translates to "poop."
How you interact is simple: press a one button to leap. In one hundred fifty stages, battle mini-bosses and visit a shop to purchase outfits for your dung hero.
Time your movements with caution, as a mistake requires restarting the level. Jump off air pockets to propel yourself higher, traverse crumbling surfaces, and touch buttons to open secret routes. Collect UN-KOINS for buying challenging stages as things intensifies.
In terms of design, the demo boasts vibrant stages and an amazing soundtrack. The retro art featuring moving geometric shapes could recall players of old favorites like Earthbound.
Although tough to name similar titles where you control a piece of feces, gaming have long incorporated fecal matter. As an illustration, in Death Stranding, players create explosives from protagonist waste. Examples include Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved use manure as plant food. Naturally, this theme shows up a lot in the adventure The Stick of Truth.
Despite its goofy concept, Unko Technica has already received notable awards, including being named best at a major publisher's game competition in 2023. This trial version is ready currently on Steam, with the complete version scheduled to launch on Steam this November.
